About Brian's Custom Rodworx

I have been building custom rods for family and friends for over 20 years. I started by taking a local rod building class building my very first fly rod. My love for fishing, pretty much if it swims, I'll fish for it, has not only added to my rod building skills over the years but my personal collections of rods as well. I not only build fly-fishing rods, but I also build custom casting and spinning rods built for bass, walleye, trout, salmon, steelhead and ice fishing. My education in Rod Building not only includes taking local rod building courses but also participating in the Mudhole Rod Building Course and The North Fork Composite Rod Building Seminar which was partially taught by the "Godfather" of Rod Building himself Gary Loomis, which I am proud to have earned the recognition of "Approved Rod Builder" for North Fork Composite.

Where we are located

Located in Spokane, Washington I'm positioned in the heart of the Inland Northwest—just minutes from rivers, lakes, and reservoirs, and within an hour of more than 200 fishable bodies of water. It’s a true angler’s hub, offering fast access to everything from quiet alpine lakes to powerful river systems, making Spokane one of the most versatile and well‑situated fishing bases in the entire Region.

Adventure
& Experience

With being located in the heart of the Inland Northwest, I'm just a few hours from some of the nation’s most legendary trout and steelhead waters—an angler’s corridor stretching across Idaho, Montana, and Washington. From the emerald runs of the Coeur d’Alene River and the rugged canyons of the Grand Ronde, to the wide‑open tailwaters of the Missouri River, and the cold, clear flows of the Blackfoot, this region sits at the crossroads of world‑class trout fishing. Add in the Yakima, St. Regis, Clearwater, St. Joe, and Clark Fork Rivers, and along with the Mighty Columbia River itself, I'm surrounded by a concentration of blue‑ribbon streams that few places in the country can match. With averaging over 60 days per year on the water, my rod R&D get plenty of testing to ensure they will perform flawlessly.
